Q: Who can I use to fly there, I'm flying from the UK.
A: We Fly into Sandford with Thompsons, or Monarch. Orlando MCO with Virgin airlines and Tampa with British Airways.
Q: What'sthe car hire like?
A: When doing this I usually pay for the fuel and return empty; and cost in the toll roads, and hire there from Thrifty or Dollar. These usually offer the better value, try booking over the Net before you go as well.
Car hire for a week booked in advance with a medium sized 4 door car and including tolls and fuel came to about $160 for the week, out of the main season. It can be around $200 in the Summer.
Q: Are the Tolls expensive?
A: Tolls are on the major roads and can run from .75 to $1.25 for a normal 4 door car, other sizes are charged per extra axle. Budget for $15/week if traveling frequently. Otherwise if you know the way, or ask the Sat Nav to plan excluding Toll roads, $5-$10 should suffice.
Be mindful that some Toll roads are now cash less these are starting in Miami 2012.
